Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, paid final respects to the Late Marine Seaman Alvarez McCoy during a Full Military Funeral Service on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Living Waters Kingdom Ministries, Warren Street.In attendance were the Minister of National Security, the Honorable Wayne Munroe, K.C., Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander, and members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Minister Munroe expressed condolences on behalf of the government of The Bahamas as he reminded those in attendance of the valuable contributions made by the young Marine in the organization, and also noted that his services to the development of the country will always be remembered. Also in attendance was the Honorable Fred Mitchell and Defence Force Chaplain, Pastor Raymond Wells, who brought further remarks and condolences. The family of Marine Mechanic McCoy was presented with a token from the Commanding Officer and crew of the RBDF Harbour Patrol facility, which was the last post assignment of the fallen Marine.The service concluded at the Woodlawn Gardens, where Marine Seaman McCoy was laid to rest.
