In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King’s strategic intent of strengthening stakeholder relations both nationally and internationally as a socially corporate partner, a team of persons from the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit erected two medical tents at the Nursing campus at Princess Margaret hospital on Saturday 31st July 2021.

The Crisis and Disaster Management Unit partnered with the Samaritans Purse to assist with the COVID 19 pandemic. The team adjusted plumping and electrical supplies to accommodate two medical tents to increase the reception of COVID 19 patients at the hospital. The tents can comfortably accommodate nine persons per tent. This initiative has made an additional eighteen bed spaces available as an extension to the main hospital. The Medical tent city is expected to be fully operational in short order.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
