The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) secured an overall second place finish in the 2025 Bahamas Road Masters Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Relay Series on the 24 November, demonstrating a strong show of endurance, determination, and teamwork by the RBDF competing against some of the top long distance runners from across the country.
The RBDF team comprised of Able Seaman Troy Seymour, Able Seaman Leonardo Forbes, Marine Seaman Bryant Ferguson, Marine Seaman Leonardo Swain, Marine Seaman Michael Stubbs and Marine Seaman Suntano Sands, delivered outstanding performances in each category.
The event, hosted by The Bahamas Road Masters Club, continues a legacy which began in 1990, when the Club was founded to promote long distance running and healthy lifestyles across The Bahamas. Beyond athletics, the Club remains committed to national upliftment, using its platform to support charitable initiatives. A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Ranfurly Home for Children, strengthening the Club’s long tradition of giving back to the wider community.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we salute the athletes for their remarkable performance and extend congratulations to all participants who contributed to a successful and meaningful event. The RBDF remains committed to promoting physical fitness and camaraderie.
