The recognition and relentless efforts of excellence in the workplace continue to showcase throughout the various departments in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Remaining consistent with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic intent of talent management, the marines of the Search and Rescue Department were recently recognized for their stellar performance.
During a brief award presentation on January 12, 2020, at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive, the men and women of the Search and Rescue department were rewarded for their continued dedication to the organization. In presenting them with certificates, Commodore King congratulated and commended the team for their efforts during the past year. Assisting him on behalf of the department’s Coordinator Commander William Sturrup, were Warrant Officers Kermit Turnquest and Pedro Rolle.
Comprising of approximately nine (9) RBDF personnel and led by Commander Sturrup the Search and Rescue Department was formed in June 2020. They are tasked with squadron sea training for all the RBDF sea-going crafts, as well as standardized training in the maritime simulator onboard HMBS CORAL HARBOUR.
Receiving awards were Petty Officer Marco King, Leading Seaman Corey Brennen, Leading Seaman Kelvin Martin, Able Seaman Roderico Carroll, Able Woman Marine Angel Dennis and Woman Marine Alexis Strachan.
