The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) proudly participated in the National Public Service’s week of events, which spanned from October 25 to November 3, showcasing excellence and teamwork across various competitions.

The week kicked off with a Fun Run Walk on Saturday, October 26, where members of the RBDF demonstrated their fitness and competitive spirit, achieving outstanding results in multiple age categories.

In the 50-59 Male Run, Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Shondell Pinder, took 2nd place, representing RBDF leadership with strength and determination. The 50-59 Male Walk saw RBDF’s Captain Gregory Brown secure 1st place, closely followed by Commander Origin Deleveaux in 2nd.

In the Under 40 Male Run, Able Seaman Ashley Clarke took 2nd place, and Able Seaman Jason Bellazier claimed 3rd place. Able Woman Marine Cyndera Parker finished in 1st place in the Under 40 Female Run, while Able Woman Marine Branae Coakley earned the top spot in the Under 40 Female Walk.

RBDF members continued to impress in the Under 30 categories, with Marine Seaman Dante Forbes and Marine Seaman Lavan Robinson finishing 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the Under 30 Male Walk. In the Under 30 Female Walk, Woman Marine Shantea Gibson secured a 2nd-place finish.

RBDF Members also participated in the Public Service Domino Tournament, where Petty Officer Lawrence Colby and Leading Seaman Roderick Carroll earned a commendable 2nd place finish.

The Defence Force also dominated on the softball team, winning all their games and defeating Bahamas Power and Light (6-3), the Ministry of Tourism (23-3), and the Department of Inland Revenue (21-1). This string of victories has advanced the team to the playoffs.
