On Monday, 12 January 2026, the crew of HMBS Lawrence Major led by Senior Commander Omarv Saunder Commanding Officer, partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Over-the-Hill during their annual Majority Rule Day Community Fun Day, held at Sarah Ingraham Park on Hospital Lane.
The initiative provided Over 450 hot meals and encouragement to individuals and families from the surrounding community. Commodore Floyd Moxey Commander Defence Force commended the effort, noting that community-centered initiatives demonstrate the RBDF’s dual role of safeguarding national security while also building trust, resilience, and unity within the society it serves.
The event was deemed a success, fostering positive community engagement and strengthening lifelong bonds with the nation’s youth. This initiative marks the first charitable outreach activity for HMBS Lawrence Major and signifies the beginning of many more community-focused efforts.
