In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King’s strategic intent, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing national security through the development of a Professional and High Performance workforce focused on Performance Excellence.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force CONGRATULATES Leading Mechanic Fredrick Clarke, Leading Mechanic Donald Newbold, Leading Mechanic Alvin Collie, Able Woman Marine Erika Longley and Marine Mechanic Jude Rahaming on successfully completing their degrees [Associates of Applied Science in Construction Technology] and Leading Seaman Jeron Bethel [Certificate in Carpentry] at The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute on 2 July 2024.
Both Leading Mechanic Alvin Collie and Marine Mechanic Jude Rahaming earned the prestigious President’s Award, while Leading Mechanic Fredrick Clarke earned Honours. They attributed their success to the on-the-job experience and development gained as members of the RBDF’s Base Civil Construction and Maintenance Unit (BCCMU).
In addition to dedicated service, these six ambitious Marines have sought to further their academic, professional and personal development, all of which are embraced by the organization through the strategic campaign set forth by Commodore King – Organizational Transformation. As the RBDF continues to invest in personnel development, these Marines serve as a testament of our dedication to cultivating the next generation of leaders capable of navigating the complex challenges of the future.
In a Courtesy Call on Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee, the Marines were accompanied by Force Chief Petty Officer Mr. Prescott Burrows the BCCMU Warrant Officer. They were reminded of the words of Commodore Dr. Raymond King ‘When you challenge yourself to explore the possibilities, opportunities, and new ideas, it opens you to novel ways to achieve your dreams.’ We look forward to seeing them apply their newfound expertise in their duties with the utmost diligence and responsibility.
The Defence Force continues to ensure its personnel are equipped, trained, and prepared for whatever tasks may arise in the pursuit of excellence in guarding our heritage.
