Defence Headquarters, 7 APR 26 (RBDF): On Sunday, 5 April, New Entry 63/32 of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force joined Mass at Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral. Also in attendance were Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey and Mrs Moxey.
Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in The Bahamas. The Church visit reflects the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s commitment and holistic development for a career in military service.
Father Glen Nixon shared a sermon that complemented the time of spiritual enlightenment, prayer and refreshing. The emphasis on spiritual health which is a cornerstone of operational readiness, fosters resilience, supports stress management, and the preparation for complex moral and ethical dilemmas in a career in military service.
New Entry 63/32 Recruits began their journey to become Marines, on Saturday, 28 February 2026 after enlisting at The Bahamas Military and Maritime Academy on board Coral Harbour Base. As they continue this new chapter, their families, friends, and communities can take pride in their decision to serve. They are not only stepping into uniform, they are stepping up to serve their country.
Under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, the RBDF is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to developing leadership, discipline, and spiritual wellness as we prepare recruits for a career in military service.
