Defence Headquarters, 12 AUGUST ‘24 (RBDF): On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Engineering Technical Training Class 01/24 proudly took part in the vibrant Fox Hill Heritage Festival Fun Run/Walk, held in the heart of the Fox Hill community. Organized by local residents, this well-attended event showcased our organization’s strong community spirit and commitment to fostering local traditions.
The Fun Run/Walk kicked off at 0700 hours, with RBDF’s Technical Training Class 01/24, led by Chief Petty Officer Farquarson, joining the enthusiastic residents on the scenic route. The participants set out from the Fox Hill Community Park roundabout, heading north to Shirley Street, then westward along Shirley Street, before looping south onto Village Road, and finally turning east onto Bernard Road to finish back at the starting point.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants were honored with Fox Hill Heritage Festival medals, and were refreshed with fruit bags, water, and energy drinks. The event was further enriched by a health and wellness fair, where participants could receive glucose and blood pressure checks, along with health screenings from esteemed medical institutions, including Doctors Hospital. Insurance advisors from companies like Colina Insurance were also on hand, offering valuable insights into coverage options.
The day was a resounding success, with participants from the Technical Training Class not only enjoying the camaraderie and community engagement but also marking this event as a significant highlight in their training journey.
