As part of his royal visit to the Bahamas, Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, paid an official visit to HMBS CORAL HARBOUR on Friday, 24 February 2023.On arrival at the Base Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, officially greeted him. After receiving a Royal salute, Prince Edward conducted a ceremonial inspection of the Royal Guard and a RBDF Rangers Platoon, led by Guard Commander, Lieutenant John Delancey.In addressing the Officers and Marines, Prince Edward brought greetings on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III. He commended the efforts made by the organization, and highlighted the immense responsibility made by the men and women as they continue to protect the archipelago of islands, which requires skill and professionalism. He also noted his pleasure in the support and opportunities given to youth of the country through the Ranger program.Following his remarks, the Earl of Wessex and Forfar unveiled a plaque to commemorate his visit, which coincides with the Governor General Youth Award Ceremony, held on Thursday 23February at Super Club Breezes.Amongst the dignitaries in attendance were Ambassador at Large, His Excellency Ron Pinder, and Minister of Youth Sports and Culture, the Honorable Mario Bowleg.(RBDF photos by Marine Seaman Rickey Sealey)
