A State Recognized Funeral service was held for the late Pastor Neville E. Scavella on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Hillview Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The eulogy was given by Pastor Paul Scavella with interment following at the Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery. A native of Crooked Island, Pastor Neville E. Scavella was a major figurehead in the religious community who served as Chaplin of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force from 1999-2001. One of his many leadership positions held in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church was President of the Cayman Islands Missions. Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Shondell Pinder attended the service on behalf of Commander of the Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, accompanied by the Defence Force Chaplain, Apostle Raymond Wells, Officers, and Marines. Also in attendance was the Acting Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas, the Hon. Chester Cooper; Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe K.C; Former Governor General, Dame Marguerite Pindling; Members of the Cabinet; Senior Government Officials; Law Enforcement Heads and Religious Leaders.Condolences are extended to the family on behalf of the Commander Defence Force, Commodore King; Executive Team Members, Officers, Warrant Officers, Senior and Junior Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.(RBDF photos by Marine Seaman Rickey Sealy)
