Commander of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, attended the State Recognized funeral of the Late Honorable Archibald Loftus Roker, on Friday, 31 May, 2023. This ceremonious occasion took place at Christ Church Cathedral located George Street.
The Honourable A. Loftus Roker’s will always be remembered for his unwavering dedication to defending the honor and integrity of The Bahamas against unfair criticism. The impact of his contribution to will forever leave a profound impact on the hearts of his loved ones and on the lives of those around him, including the entire Bahamian nation.
He was highly esteemed across many sectors for his commitment and could truly be described as a guardian of both our heritage and national identity.
In December 1972, Mr. Roker was one of only fifteen distinguished members of a national delegation that traveled to London to negotiate the terms of The Bahamas’ independence. His contributions during this pivotal moment in our history were invaluable.
In 1985, Mr. Roker was appointed Minister of National Security, the culmination of a career marked by numerous accomplishments and focus on the improvement of the lives of his fellow Bahamians. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
