In keeping with the Commander Defence Force’s intent as it pertains to the well-being of personnel, Officers and Marines along with Mr. Loxwell Russell from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Supply Department recently came together to lend a helping hand to one of its own, during their quarterly community effort.Coordinated by Base Supply Officer Lieutenant Commander Samantha Hart, the members of the Supply Department went to the home of Petty Officer Michael Lightbourne, and showed their support by providing landscape maintenance. They assisted in the cutting down of overgrown lawn and hedges, removal of debris, downed trees and branches from around the property, and the cleaning of windows.A 35-year-veteran, Petty Officer Lightbourne retired from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in 2017, but in recent times has experienced health challenges. He expressed his gratitude to the men and women for their charitable efforts.According to Lieutenant Commander Hart, this ongoing initiative is to ensure the morale and well-being of serving and retired Officers and Marines are met.(By: Petty Officer Tancia Russell) (RBDF photos by Petty Officer Tancia Russell)
