In its ongoing effort to promote the health, fitness, high morale, and wellness of the organization, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force conducted a training seminar with representatives from Foot Care RX at HMBS CORAL HARBOUR on Monday, 13 March 2023.The Training Department has assigned the month of March to promote and aid in a healthier lifestyle, which is in line with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic vision of developing a professional and high-performance workforce focused on health and wellness of its members.This week’s session served as a key component to propel the message of physical health to the Marines and Offices. Nurse Margret Daxon and Nurse Soleitha Clark presented on holistic health, and topics covered included meal planning, diabetes, peripheral arterial diseases, management and monitoring risks related to foot injuries.In the ensuing weeks, the Training Department will be hosting a series of events, which include wellness seminars, healthy meal challenges, and sporting activities, which are centered around jumpstarting the health and wellness program.This initiative supports the Commander Defence Force, Raymond King’s command priorities related to personal readiness and physical fitness, ensuring that the organization maintains a Cadre of Officers and Marines who are fit to fight at all times.
