The Battle 4 Atlantis College Basketball Tournament, which was held on Paradise Island attracted many spectators so and among those were ten (10) members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Ranger Program thanks to the generosity of the United States Embassy in The Bahamas. The generous donation of tickets by the US Embassy afforded two (2) males and eight

females from the youth program to attend the first-ever Battle 4 Atlantis Women’s Tournament, where they watched women’s basketball teams from South Carolina, Buffalo, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Florida, Minnesota, and Syracuse compete. The gesture will continued for a week allowing another twenty-two (22) RBDF Rangers to attend even more games between teams from Arizona State, Auburn, Loyola Chicago, Michigan State, Syracuse, Connecticut, Virginia Commonwealth, and Baylor. The RBDF Rangers were chaperoned by Leading Woman Marine Anishka Bonaby and Woman Marine Edecia Carey of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Also in attendance were staff from the US Embassy. With discipline, dedication and determination as its core tenets, the Defence Force Ranger Program continues to evolve into one of the country’s most outstanding youth programs. The RBDF Rangers Program and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force are grateful to the US government for their partnership, and kind gesture to our nation’s future leaders.
