The high-ranking officers were in the country to attend the closing ceremony of the Joint Combined Exercise Training, scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2021. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force hosted the annual regional training exercise over the past two weeks, which included RBDF Marines from the Commando Squadron Department and the Military and Force Protection Unit and Police Officers. The exercise involved ships, aircraft, ground troops, and law enforcement personnel engaged in training focused on countering transnational organized crime.

During his visit, General Satterfield and Commodore King discussed matters of mutual interests between both countries. Some of the discussions focused on security cooperation for The Bahamas, and by extension, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Discussions also centered on Domain Control, Domain Awareness, and institutional capacity building opportunities such as counter terrorism activities; anti transnational criminal organization operations; and force protection missions, along with further training for the Officers and Marines.

The Military officials also expressed their commitment towards promoting peace and security within the region before exchanging pleasantries following the visit.
