What was found on Wolverine III ?
A foreign pleasure craft was apprehended by Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship (HMBS) Arthur Dion Hanna under the command of Lieutenant Commander Chapell Whyms on Friday 3rd October 2014 for possession of unlicensed firearms, as well as unaccounted ammunition.
While on routine patrol HMBS Arthur Dion Hanna apprehended a forty seven foot (47-foot) United States registered cabin cruiser (Wolverine III) with two (2) persons on board. Wolverine III was boarded alongside Conch Inn Marina in Abaco and found in possession of two (2) unlicensed firearms, as well as ammunition that could not be accounted for according to the vessel’s documents.
The vessel and occupants were subsequently arrested by Defence Force Marines and handed over to the local police authorities in Abaco for further processing.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to “Guarding Our Heritage” and the sovereignty of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
