It is with a heavy heart that I express profound sorrow on behalf of the Executive Leadership, Officers, Warrant Officers, Non Commissioned Officers, Marines, Reserves and Veterans of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, upon the passing of Retired Petty Officer Aubrey Alexander Tucker.

Petty Officer Tucker faithfully served the Defence Force and his nation with distinction for over 34 years, having enlisted on July 19, 1982, and honorably retiring on November 28, 2016. His decades of service are a testament to his dedication, resilience, and commitment to duty. Throughout his career, he fulfilled numerous roles with pride and professionalism, contributing significantly in key areas both ashore and afloat.

His tenure included service aboard HMBS Andros in 1984, HMBS Abaco in 1985, and HMBS Yellow Elder in 1996. He lent his expertise to the Supply Department, Commando Squadron, Officer’s Wardroom, and Supply Warehouse. Additionally,

he played vital roles in Port Security and Harbour Patrol, demonstrating his versatility and steadfast work ethic in safeguarding our nation’s maritime security.

In his final performance review, Petty Officer Tucker was commended by his Divisional Officer as a team player and a motivator for his subordinates, exemplifying leadership and a spirit of camaraderie that left a lasting impression on all who served alongside him.

The legacy of Retired Petty Officer Tucker’s service remains a part of the rich history of the Defence Force. His contributions have touched the lives of many, and his dedication will forever be remembered.
