Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) officers and marines who recently returned from the People’s Republic of China paid a special courtesy call on Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, following their completion of military education and training at prestigious naval and air force institutions across China.

The following offficers & marines who completed the courses are:

Acting Commander Nevada Bain, who completed the Naval Command and Staff Program in Nanjing Province, Naval Command College China.

Senior Lieutenant Miska Clarke, who attended the Dalian Naval Academy in Dalian City, Liaoning Province.

Sub Lieutenant Renaldo Wilkinson, who made history as the first Bahamian officer to attend the Naval University of Engineering in Wuhan, China. He emerged as the university’s most decorated foreign military student, earning:

o The Outstanding Trainee Participant Award

o The Excellent Foreign Military Trainee Award

o The Friendship Award Medal

Leading Woman Marine Catherine Lewis-Saunders, who successfully completed her studies while representing the RBDF with pride as the only female in this crew who went off to further naval studies in College of International Studies PLA NUTR.

Leading Mechanic Timothy Thompson, who attended the Air Force Engineering University in Xi’an City, China.

Leading Mechanic Glen Bullard, who completed his training at the Air Force Engineering University, Xinyang Campus.

Commodore Moxey commended the officers and marines for their outstanding accomplishments and emphasized the importance of continued professional development through international partnerships. For they have not only represented the Royal Bahamas Defence Force with excellence but also strengthened bilateral ties between The Bahamas and the People’s Republic of China. Your achievements set a high standard and reflect the professionalism and commitment of our organization.

These academic and technical programmes, offered through cooperation between the RBDF and the Chinese military, provide invaluable training and exposure to global defence practices, contributing to the RBDF’s strategic mission to remain a professional, adaptable, and capable maritime force.
