The Harbour Patrol Unit held a special ceremony on Friday, 12 September 2025, to mark the donation of jet skis from the Baha Mar Resort Foundation. The crafts will serve to strengthen the Unit’s capacity to patrol and protect Bahamian waters.
The Honourable Wayne Munroe, K.C., Minister of National Security attended the ceremony, along with senior RBDF officers, representatives from Baha Mar, and stakeholders from the tourism and maritime sectors.
Minister Munroe emphasized the importance of safeguarding the nation’s waters as both a resource and a matter of security. The new jet skis will provide the Harbour Patrol Unit with faster response times, improved patrol coverage, and greater operational flexibility.
Commodore Floyd Moxey noted that the initiative aligns with the RBDF’s mission to guard the territorial integrity of The Bahamas. The event concluded with acknowledgment of the Baha Mar Resort Foundation and other partners supporting the RBDF’s ongoing work to protect the nation’s maritime domain.
