Defence Headquarters, 29 JUNE. ‘23 (RBDF): Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King attended the Blessing and Rededication Ceremony of Government House and Office of The Governor General at Mount Fitzwilliam on June 28, 2023.

The service commenced with the initial changing of the guard by Marines of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force. The Governor General of The Bahamas, His Excellency Cornelius Smith also inspected the Honor Guard. Officiating the service of blessing was Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, The Right Reverend Laish Boyd.

His Excellency Cornelius Smith in his address paused to thank those who played a monumental role in the revitalization and preservation of the grounds at Government House, stating that it is imperative to preserve our country’s treasures starting with the people’s house.

Among those in attendance were Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Phillip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister, The Honourable Chester Cooper, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander.
