Defence Headquarters, 08 FEB. ‘24: In tribute, Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, paid his respects to the late Dr. Elwood Donaldson on February 8, 2023. All the organization’s Captains joined him to offer their respects and condolences as well.
During the event, Commodore King, accompanied by his Aide de Camp, Commander Samantha Hart, and Command Warrant, Force Chief Petty Officer, Remone Storr, were allowed to engage with the family. Reflecting on his memories of Dr. Elwood Donaldson, Commodore King conveyed heartfelt condolences and words of encouragement on behalf of the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
Dr. Donaldson, a revered mentor, politician, and visionary leader, played a pivotal role in the 1967-1972 House of Assembly, ushering in Majority Rule. His impact on the nation is immeasurable, and he will be remembered as a trailblazer in Bahamian history.
A State Recognized Funeral Service to honor Dr. Elwood Donaldson is scheduled for Friday, February 09, 2024, at Zion Baptist, East & Shirley Streets.
