The Bahamas National Youth Guard Cohort II celebrated their graduation ceremony at Breezes Resort Cable Beach on May 3, 2024, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
In attendance was Prime Minister, the Honourable Phillip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister, the Honourable Chester Cooper, Minister of National Security, the Honourable Wayne Munroe, Acting Commander Defence Force, Captain Shondell Pinder, other Cabinet members and representatives from other law enforcement agencies.
Comprising of 35 determined young men and women, Cohort II underwent rigorous training in disaster management, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to serving their country. Their weeks of dedicated preparation have equipped them with the skills and readiness to respond to the call of duty whenever it arises.
Amidst the cohort, a select few distinguished themselves, earning special recognition for their exceptional dedication and hard work. Notable awardees included Best Female Cadet, Ida Johnson, Best Male Cadet, Christian Burnside, Most Improved Female Cadet, Latajh Miller, Most Improved Male Cadet, Cecil Barr, Instructors Award recipient Ramon Francis, and Executive Officer Award recipient Lennia Wells. Each of these cadets exemplified excellence in their time training, earning commendation for their outstanding achievements.
