Commander Defence Force Commodore Floyd P. Moxey has returned from an intensive five-day Strategic Leadership Programme in Barbados from 2–6 March 2026. Commodore Moxey was accompanied by Force Chief Petty Officer Pedro Rolle, Command Warrant Officer.

The event was hosted by The Barbados Defence Force, in partnership with the United Kingdom Defence Academy and brought together security and defence leaders from across the Caribbean.

The initiative is designed to strengthen strategic leadership capabilities across the defence and security sectors, enhance strategic decision-making, foster inter-agency cooperation, and reinforce principles of human rights and civilian oversight within security sectors.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND CURRICULUM:

•             Strategic Decision-Making: Equipping leaders with frameworks to navigate complex national security challenges.

•             Ethical Leadership: Strengthening institutional commitment to human rights, the rule of law, and civilian oversight.

•             Inter-Agency Synergy: Promoting seamless cooperation between national security agencies.

•             Crisis Management: Developing tools for humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and anti-corruption transparency.
