Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King completed a series of official rounds from November 4th to November 6th, 2024 of the island of Bimini and the RBDF Detachment stationed there. This visit included inspection and engagement with various government and community stakeholders, ensuring a strengthened commitment to safety and security on the island.

In leading a formal inspection of the RBDF marines stationed in Bimini, Commodore King evaluated the existing accommodations, readiness, and overall operational efficiency. This assessment underscores the Defence Force’s dedication to maintaining high standards for its personnel and facilities in the region.

The Commander also took the opportunity to meet with key representatives from government uniformed branches, local administration, and community stakeholders at the George W. Weech Complex. This collaborative meeting included Island Administrator Miss Eva Arther, Police ASP Pinder, Inspector Sweeting, Chief Customs Officer Lisa Phlecanos, Immigration Superintendent Sophia Ferguson, Fisheries Officer Mr. Kevin Smith, Port Security representative Mr. Michael Wilson from Resort World, Resident Caretaker Mr. Vincent Sawyer, and Ms. Saunders of the Port Department.

Each participant provided valuable input, discussing pressing community concerns and aligning strategies to further enhance the safety and security protocols on Bimini. The Commander’s visit concluded with an informal dinner alongside the marines, where camaraderie and support were shown.

Under the command of Commodore Raymond King, the RBDF prioritizes the safety and welfare of it’s men and ensuring cohesive relationships between Defence Force personnel and key stakeholders within the island communities in which they serve.
