Defence Headquarters, 7 August, ’24: (RBDF) – Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King, joined by his wife, retired Force Chief Petty Officer Fredricka King, and Command Warrant Officer, Force Chief Petty Officer Remone Storr, celebrated the achievements of young men in the NexGen Program at a closing ceremony held on August 3rd at the Bahamar Grand Hyatt ballroom.
The NexGen Program, led by Senator Ronald Duncombe, is a youth development initiative focused on leadership, teamwork, personal finance, and other essential life skills. The program has produced aspiring leaders in various fields, including maritime, photography, dentistry, and engineering.
Commodore King, a staunch supporter of youth development, has been actively involved in the NexGen Program. In April of this year, he addressed the NexGen Forum, sharing his expertise in leadership and public service. Additionally, his Executive Leadership Team conducted a session with the program participants in August 2023 to provide invaluable insights into the defence sector.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) remains committed to fostering the development of young Bahamians. By supporting programs like NexGen, the RBDF aims to instill the values of discipline, leadership, and determination in the next generation, preparing them to become responsible and engaged citizens.
