Her Excellency Smita Rossette, newly appointed British High Commissioner to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, paid a courtesy call on Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive, on Friday, 5 September 2025.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Rossette expressed her commitment to supporting the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Rangers’ Program, noting its positive impact on Bahamian youth through mentorship, discipline, and community engagement. She also conveyed her appreciation for RBDF Marines task with sentry duties at the High Commission’s office and residence.

Commodore Moxey reaffirmed the RBDF’s dedication to collaboration and partnership, highlighting the longstanding relationship with the United Kingdom and the shared interest in training, capacity building, and youth development initiatives.

The visit further strengthened bilateral ties and underscored the mutual commitment to security, community development, and the empowerment of young people.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under the command of Commodore Floyd Moxey remains dedicated to “Guarding Our Heritage” through service, partnerships, and initiatives that enhance national security and foster community growth.
