T he School of Officer Training is comprised of six (6) foundational courses designed for entry into the RBDF Naval Officer Corps. The course is extremely challenging and the content comprehensive, intense, and designed to facilitate introductory training of responsibilities as a naval officer.
The school will also introduce officer candidates into the military structure of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force; the rich history of traditions and customs; organizational policies and procedures, Defence Force legal system, military etiquette, maritime law enforcement and finally military leadership and management principles.

Officer Candidates should possess a minimum of Bachelor Degree equivalent or above from an accredited institution verified by NACOB.
Candidates with non-traditional qualifications must submit their qualifications to NAECOB for assessment to ensure alignment with RBDF recruitment qualification standards. **Note: RBDF does not assess qualifications.

Applicants will have to undergo a Pre BMI Screening for a Body Mass Index and weight screening to determine whether or not they are eligible to sit the Joining Fitness Exam.

In addition applicants will have to sit an amplitude or academic exams in Math, English and General Knowledge. (Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees, equivalent (approved by NACOB) or above from an accredited tertiary institutions will be exempt from the initial academic evaluation.
