Members of New Entry 50 and Woman Entry 20 of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force commemorated thirteen years of service with a meaningful act of community service on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at Unity House on East Street South. The anniversary observance reflected the group’s spirit of gratitude and service, as members gave thanks to God first and foremost for preserving their lives and allowing them to continue serving the nation more than a decade after enlistment. Their outreach initiative formed part of their anniversary celebrations and stood as a testament to their commitment not only to duty, but also to community.
The community service activity was held a day after the official observance of the Majority Rule Holiday, which fell on the weekend and was observed nationally on Monday, 12 January 2026. As a result, members of NE 50/20 conducted their charitable effort on the following day in keeping with their anniversary plans.
During the visit to Unity House, donations were presented on behalf of the entry to Mr. Eric Demerra, further demonstrating the group’s desire to make a positive and lasting contribution to those in need. The presentation symbolized the entry’s appreciation for life, service, and the opportunity to give back to the wider Bahamian community.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd P. Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, commends the members of NE 50/20 for marking this important milestone in a manner that embodies compassion, unity, faith, and national service.
