As the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to enforce the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic objective of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and the community at large as a socially corporate citizen, members of Entry 46/Woman Entry 16 recently joined forces to feed a community.
During a rainy and cool atmosphere on Saturday January 16, 2021, near the Grants Town Corps center, past and current members came together to be a blessing to the Bain and Grants Town Community. Breakfast comprising of yellow grits, steamed sausage, steamed corned beef and tuna salad, along with a choice of juice and bottled water were distributed to pedestrians and individuals in vehicles.
The combined squad is observing 12 years as a unit on January 19, 2021, and together, they have made significant contributions to the organization. Many residents expressed gratitude and gratefulness for the kind gesture, which meant a lot during the recent pandemic.
Leading Woman Marine Opal Farquharson noted, “Sometimes in life we take for granted the bread in our fridge and water on the cooler. What we deem as simple, may be a challenge for someone else”, said Farquharson. “In serving 200 plates today, this venture is something we enjoyed doing and it is always a good thing to be a blessing to someone else”.
