The Administration Branches of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) held an awards ceremony on Monday December 16 2024 to recognize outstanding marines from departments consisting of Sick Bay, Band & Ceremonial. This event highlighted the exceptional work ethics and dedication of these
individuals throughout the year.
Able Woman Marine Robyn Mackey was awarded “Able Hand of the Year,” while Leading Seaman Alexander Adderley received the “Leading Hand of the Year” accolade in the RBDF Band Department. Marine Seaman Dwayne Ferguson earned the title of “Marine of the Third Quarter,” and Leading Seaman Alexander Ferguson was recognized as “Leading Seaman of the Third Quarter” for the Sick Bay Department. Emmanuel Johnson was named “Marine of the Second Quarter” and “Marine of the Year 2024” for the Administration Branch. Additionally, Able Woman Marine Ciydera Parker received the “Marine of the First Quarter” award for the Administration Branch. In the Ceremonial Department, Leading Seaman Bernard Barr captured the “Marine of the First Quarter” and “Leading Seaman of the Quarter” awards. Tyler Leary earned recognition as “Marine of the Second Quarter,” while Dwayne Davis received the “Marine of the Third Quarter” award.
The awards were presented by Captain Coral Harbour Captain Glenn McPhee, Base Executive Officer Commander Origin Deleveaux, and department heads. This ceremony exemplifies the RBDF’s ongoing commitment to fostering a high-performance, professional workforce. Under the leadership of Commodore Raymond King, Commander Defence Force, performance excellence and succession planning for service members remain top priorities.
The RBDF extends its heartfelt congratulations to all honorees for their hard work and dedication in upholding the values and mission of the Defence Force.
