As part of Commander Defence Force’s strategic objective to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and the larger community, members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Airwing Department carried out their First Quarter Community Service on Saturday 5 April, 2025, at the Ranfurly Homes for Children, located on Mackey Street.
Led by Airwing Executive Officer, Senior Lieutenant Delron Mitchell, the team was warmly welcomed by Homes Coordinator Prodesta Moore as they donated 24 gift bags and wholesale snack items for the residents. The facility, which houses 16 boys and 8 girls, became a hub of curiosity and learning during the visit, as the children engaged Airwing personnel with questions about aviation and potential enlistment in the Defence Force.
Following the interaction, the Airwing Department was given a guided tour of the home, where they were briefed on the ongoing upgrades and improvements spearheaded by sponsors. Administrator Ms. Ingrid Deveaux, the staff, and the children expressed deep gratitude for the initiative and the thoughtfulness of the Defence Force’s gesture.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
