The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) joined church, community, and national leaders in a Prayer & Praise Worship Service celebrating the 80th birthday of Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, held on Wednesday 04 November 2025 at Prayer & Praise Assembly, Ragged Island Street.

The celebration reflected Dame Cynthia Pratt’s legacy as a trailblazer, prominent civic and national leader with an unwavering faith in God. The atmosphere was joyful and spirited, filled with vibrant worship, singing, dancing, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude for her life and legacy of service to God, country and humanity.

The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, attended the service along with members of his Executive Leadership and Marines, demonstrating the admiration and appreciation the RBDF has for the Commander-In-Chief. Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, has long been regarded affectionately as “Mother Pratt” by the nation, demonstrative of her passion for championing the needs, aspirations and potential of the ‘common man’ as well as her strong advocacy for law enforcement service personnel.

The service featured moving musicals, spoken tributes, and a stirring solo performance of “Alabaster Box” by Officer Aniska Lewis from the Department of Immigration, which reflected themes of sacrifice, devotion, and praise. Words of encouragement and reflection highlighted Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Pratt’s journey of resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith, with references to Proverbs 31, affirming her as a woman who leads with strength, dignity, and grace.

The RBDF Chaplain, Apostle Dr. Raymond Wells, delivered the benediction, sealing the evening in unity and thanksgiving. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends heartfelt congratulations and continued blessings to Her Excellency on this milestone celebration.

The RBDF, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to supporting national leadership and the spiritual and cultural life of the Bahamian people.
