The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Band delivered a spirited musical performance on the grounds of Government House on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, as celebrations continued in honour of Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, on her 80th birthday.

Widely recognized as one of the finest military ensembles in the region, the RBDF Band marched onto the courtyard with precision and discipline, presenting a dynamic musical display that encapsulated the joyful spirit of the celebrations. The performance featured a collection of well-loved national, cultural, and ceremonial pieces, that culminated in a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Birthday”, in tribute to Her Excellency.

Her Excellency looked on with delight, visibly expressing joy and gratitude as the Band performed. The atmosphere was lively and filled with energy, as the Band showcased its military bearing, musical excellence, and cultural expression.

The performance demonstrated not only the Band’s musical talent, but also the discipline, and esprit de corps, that defines the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. The seamless transitions from ceremonial precision to expressive celebration reflected the cultural heartbeat of the Bahamian people.

The RBDF, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we are honoured to be apart of the celebrations extending warmest well-wishes to Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, Commander-In-Chief whose life, legacy and leadership continues to inspire service, compassion, and faith across The Bahamas.
