In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic objective of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and the community at large as a socially corporate citizen, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force presented Christmas gifts to the students of the Adelaide and Gambier Primary Schools on December 18, 2020.

Traditionally the Royal Bahamas Defence Force invites the staff, faculty, and students from both schools to be a part of its Annual Christmas Carol ceremony held at HMBS CORAL HARBOUR. However, due to the current state of the country, plans were revamped, and Commodore Raymond King, along with Chairperson of the RBDF Christmas Carol 2020 committee, Senior Commander Floyd Moxey delivered the presents to the schools.

Receiving the gifts were Ms. Thane Hudson, Principal of Adelaide Primary School, and Mrs. Deloris Forbes, Principal at the Gambier Primary School. In providing gifts to each of the students, Commodore King also used the opportunity to dialogue with the school leaders to discover avenues in which the organization can assist with the educational gaps that the schools are facing. The in-person visits allowed for a timely acquaint and allowed both parties to strategize a plan moving forward to aid the students in the pursuit of education during the pandemic.

Accompanied by some of the students from each school, both school Principals were grateful for the gesture and thanked Commodore King and the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Defence for their continued support to the educational needs of the students.

As the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to patrol and protect the territorial integrity of the Bahamas, the organization also focuses on community building.
