Members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Welfare Department once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to community service by attending the closing ceremony of OPERATION S.O.L.D. (Save Our Little Darlings) Summer Camp at Adelaide Primary School on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Commanding Officer of the Welfare Department, Lieutenant Commander Elvis Bullard, applauded the young campers for attending the camp during the summer months away from school. He also acknowledged the parents who attended the event, thanking them for allowing their children to participate. The children were also encouraged by Lieutenant Commander Bullard to work hard in school, support each other, and make the right choices in life. Mrs. Christine Stubbs, the camp’s organizer and facilitator expressed her heartfelt thanks to the RBDF for their continued support.

Located in a community near the RBDF military base, the school has been proudly adopted by the RBDF. The organization has been lending its support wherever possible, dedicating skills, time, and effort to benefit the school and its students. This support directly impacts the children of the community, enriching their educational experience and fostering their development.

Under Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the RBDF is committed to advancing our nation by fostering youth development and enhancing community relations. The organization’s objective is to facilitate discipline and leadership through supportive programs and initiatives like OPERATION S.O.L.D. By actively engaging in meaningful community projects, including our ongoing support for Adelaide Primary School, we strengthen community ties and contribute to building a thriving society.
