In a compelling demonstration of inter-agency collaboration and a shared commitment to national development, Commander Origin Deleveaux of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force delivered the keynote address during a training seminar
hosted by the Department of Immigration at its headquarters in Nassau on Wednesday, 3 April 2025.
The seminar, held under the theme “Breaking Barriers & Empowering Change,” brought together Senior Immigration Officers and Immigration Officers I for a day of professional development aimed at equipping leaders with tools for visionary thinking and transformative leadership.
Commander Deleveaux, who has addressed Immigration personnel on multiple occasions, was once again invited to share his expertise on Strategic Thinking and Vision Setting. Accompanied by a team of both senior and junior enlisted Defence Force personnel, his presence underscored the RBDF’s continued commitment to inter-agency cooperation and capacity building across the national security sector.
In his keynote address, Commander Deleveaux emphasized the power of strategic foresight in leadership, particularly in environments that demand resilience, adaptability, and innovation. “Strategic thinking is about uncovering all the options and thinking long term,” he explained. “It’s the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.”
He encouraged participants to challenge outdated paradigms, embrace innovation, and foster a mindset anchored in growth, purpose, and alignment with the broader goals of national security and public service. His message resonated strongly with attendees, inspiring many to consider how they, too, can lead transformative change within their own spheres of influence.
The event served as another example of the RBDF’s dedication to national partnership and mutual professional development, reinforcing the Force’s ongoing mission to build a more secure and progressive Bahama with its national security counterparts.
