In a continued effort to foster inter-agency cooperation, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) was invited by the Bahamas Department of Immigration to speak with its newest cohort of recruits, A-Squad 2025, during a session held on 19 May 2025, at the St. Agnes Anglican Church Hall.
Representing the RBDF was Force Chief Petty Officer Matthew Rolle, who addressed the recruits on the relationship that exists between the RBDF and the Bahamas Department of Immigration. He highlighted that while both agencies have distinct missions and operational priorities, there are shared interests in critical areas such as border protection, law enforcement, and national security where the missions intersect, and require collaboration.
Force Chief Petty Officer Rolle elaborated on how both entities routinely work hand in hand in the execution of duties, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication, and mutual respect in joint operations. He also spoke to the integrated training relationship that exists between the agencies, particularly when Immigration Officers and recruits are seconded to the RBDF for training.
The session formally introduced the recruits to members of the broader law enforcement community, helping to build relationships and emphasize the teamwork and cooperation essential to the nation’s defence and immigration missions.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, the RBDF remains committed to building strong inter-agency partnerships that enhance national security and promote a unified approach to service.
