Demonstrating their commitment to community service and youth development, members of RBDF Entry 51/21 made a generous donation to the Physical Education Department of Ridgeland Primary School on January 29, 2025. The donation included basketballs, volleyballs, batons, cones, jump ropes, and basketball nets, all aimed at enhancing the school’s athletic program and encouraging student participation in sports.

The initiative was spearheaded by Able Seaman Mario Stubbs, who previously launched the Boys to Men mentorship program at the school. What began as a simple act of kindness cutting students’ hair quickly evolved into a full-scale mentorship effort. Recognizing the need for positive male role models, Able Seaman Stubbs collaborated with the principal, vice principal, and senior mistress to establish the program, which focuses on mentoring male students in grades 4, 5, and 6.

The Boys to Men initiative has been well received, with members of Entry 51/21 actively supporting the program by sponsoring lunches, providing school supplies, and fostering personal growth among the students. Their donation to the P.E. Department is yet another example of their unwavering dedication to making a lasting impact.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to fostering positive relationships within the community. Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, initiatives like these continue to strengthen the bond between the RBDF and the nation’s youth, reinforcing values of mentorship, service, and national pride.
