It is with heavy hearts, that we extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Comrade Vernon Maxwell Pinder, a revered Bahamian World War II veteran, who passed away on Saturday, 20th April 2024.

Though we have lost this patriot, at the age of 98, he stood as a beacon of courage and resilience, embodying the very essence of service to his country.

Mr. Pinder was an active member of the British Legion – Bahamas Branch, and was more than just a veteran. He was a living testament to the sacrifices made by countless Bahamians who served during World War II.

In honouring his memory, let us hold dear the memories of his courage, strength, and patriotism. His contributions will always be remembered, and his legacy will surely live on.
