Defence Headquarters, 18 January, 2023 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is saddened by the loss of Marine Mechanic Alvarez McCoy, who passed away on January 18, 2023.

McCoy, a resident of Fox Hill, graduated from the Charles W. Saunders Baptist High School before enlisting in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as a member of New Entry 55/ Woman Entry 24 on January 8, 2018. Upon completion of New Entry Training he was drafted to the Band. During his tour of duty, he also served in the Transport Workshop as a Mechanical Engineer and the Harbor Patrol Unit before his untimely demise. He was described as energetic and dependable and showed great interest in extending his knowledge in his craft and was commended for this by his Divisional Senior Rate.

The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King extends sincerest condolences on behalf of the members of his Executive Command, Officers, Senior Enlisted, and Junior Enlisted of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, to the family members, loved ones, and friends of the late Marine Seaman Alvarez McCoy.
