The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) hosted a certificate ceremony to honor the dedicated individuals who successfully completed the Crisis and Disaster Risk Management training course. This one-week intensive course, repeated over a four-week period with a new group of students each week was designed to ensure that all participants are well-equipped to handle emergencies, reinforcing the RBDF’s commitment to national security and disaster preparedness.

The training covered a wide range of critical areas, including shelter management, urban search and rescue, explosion and fire prevention, field equipment operations, and emergency response procedures. Through hands-on exercises and real-world simulations, participants gained invaluable skills to respond effectively to crises and safeguard lives and property.

Disaster & Risk Management Officer, Captain Sonia Miller emphasized the importance of continuous training in disaster risk management, ensuring that personnel remain prepared for any emergency. This initiative aligns with the force’s mission to strengthen national resilience and enhance response capabilities. Also in attendance was Crisis Risk Management Officer, Senior Commander Granville Adderley.
