As a matter of priority for Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey; the officers of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF). conducted a Mess Dinner on Friday, 29 August 2025, at HMBS Coral Harbour.
Mess Dinners are a proud display of military tradition and camaraderie which fosters synergy amongst the leadership of the organization.
The evening reinforced the bonds of fellowship among officers while upholding the traditions and high standards that define the RBDF. It served as a notable reminder of the values of unity, discipline, and the shared commitment to excellence within the Force.
Delivering the keynote address was the Minister of National Security, Hon. Wayne Munroe, K.C., who commended Commodore Floyd Moxey for his inclusive, corporate style of leadership that empowers senior personnel while ensuring that knowledge and experience are passed down to junior officers as a collective strength. Minister Munroe also spoke about the importance of restoring the fleet and ensuring that RBDF officers are fully equipped and prepared to lead with distinction.
Among the distinguished attendees were Permanent Secretary Bridgette Hepburn; Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey; Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Natasha Miller; Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Sonia Miller; Base Executive Officer, Commander Byron Brown; and Force Chaplain, Apostle Raymond Wells, along with many other senior officials and special guests.
The evening concluded with a series of traditional Loyalty Toasts, including tributes to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, remembrance of the dearly departed, and toasts to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family, and the RBDF.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains steadfast in its mission to defend the sovereignty of The Bahamas. Events such as these play a vital role in strengthening the resolve, discipline, and camaraderie of its members, ensuring the continued unity and success of the Force.
