RBDF Hosts Inaugural Senior Rates Mess Dinner

Senior Rates of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) gathered at HMBS Coral Harbour on Friday, September 27th, 2024, for the inaugural Senior Rates Mess Dinner, continuing the celebration of camaraderie and rich military tradition.

The evening served as a poignant reminder of the values of unity, discipline, and shared commitment to excellence within the force. In his keynote address, the Hon. Wayne Munroe, K.C., Minister of National Security, commended the organizing committee for their meticulous planning and flawless execution of the event. He emphasized the pivotal role of Senior Rates in the RBDF, recognizing the immense leadership responsibilities that accompany their rank.

A particularly touching moment was led by Chief Petty Officer Simmons, who delivered a heartfelt tribute to fallen comrades. At the center of the dining hall stood a draped table in honor of them. A series of Loyalty Toasts followed, honoring the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, remembering the departed, and raising glasses to the King and Royal Family, the RBDF, and Senior Rates.

Each toast echoed the spirit of camaraderie and commitment shared by all present. Chief Petty Officer Leslie Knowles, President of the Senior Rates Mess, expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Commander Defence Force Commodore Raymond King and Mrs. King, Captain Coral Harbour Captain Glenn McPhee and Mrs. McPhee, and Base Executive Officer Commander Origin Deleveaux and Mrs. Deleveaux.
