The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Unit held a Prostate Cancer Awareness Forum on September 23, 2024, at RBDF Coral Harbour Base for Officers and Marines. This event aimed to raise awareness of prostate cancer and emphasized the importance of early detection and proactive health management.

Medical experts at the forum discussed the severity of prostate cancer, highlighting the risks associated with delayed diagnosis. They provided key insight into common causes and contributing factors, stressing the critical need for regular screenings.

Force Chief Petty Officer Darren Roker also shared a powerful testimony about his personal battle with prostate cancer, offering encouragement and motivation. His experience served as a compelling reminder for attendees to prioritize their health. He urged those not yet diagnosed to take preventive measures and encouraged those currently facing the disease to remain hopeful and resilient.
