Coral Harbour Base, 14 JUL. ‘20 (RBDF): As the country celebrated 47 years as an independent nation, the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Defence and Police forces were out on Clifford Park in solidarity to help mark the occasion on July 9, 2020.
Globally, the world has accepted its new normal amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, and as such, this auspicious event was celebrated in keeping with the COVID-19 Emergency Orders. On this night, the military and law enforcement agencies marched onto Clifford Park, and hoisted the Bahamian flag, which signified the dawning of independence. In attendance were Bishop Delton Fernander and officers and members of the Bahamas Christian Council, who led the way in offering prayers for the nation.
As the Royal Bahamas continue to patrol and protect the territorial integrity of The Bahamas, the men and women remain steadfast in its unwavering commitment, sacrifice and service toward the development of the Bahamas.
