Sixty officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Leadership Course visited the Nurse Naomi Christie Center for the Elderly on September 28, 2024, to offer their time and efforts in community service.
The officers were warmly welcomed by Head Caretakers Ms. Moncur and Ms. Albury, who guided them on a tour of the facility and introduced them to some of its residents.
During this community service event, the officers were engaged in various activities, including yard cleaning, conversing with and feeding the elderly, and assisting with a few of their regular daily chores.
It was the aim of the organizers to include this effort into the Leadership Course to ensure that participants remain connected to the very people they are serve each day they put on their uniforms, as well as to support the institutions which play an important role in caring for the needs which exist within our communities.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force demonstrates its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship through extensive outreach initiatives. These projects aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains dedicated to serving all residents of the Bahamas.
