Marines from the Crisis Risk and Disaster Management (CRDM) Department of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) led by Chief Petty Officer Derward Smith, recently demonstrated their dedication to community and national collaboration through a community service initiative at the Bahamas Red Cross on John F. Kennedy Drive, aimed at reinforcing support systems within the community.

The efforts involved the relocation and rearrangement of furniture, helping the Red Cross optimize space and improve functionality at its JFK location. The Marines worked diligently to transport and reorganize essential items, ensuring the space was better equipped to serve the public in times of need.

In addition to the physical relocation efforts, the CRDM team also carried out vital plumbing work, addressing issues in both the bathroom and kitchen areas of the facility. Their expertise helped restore functionality to these essential spaces, enhancing the Red Cross’s ability to provide critical services in a safe and sanitary environment.

This collaboration stands as a testament to the RBDF’s broader mandate of service and highlights the strong ties between national agencies working together for the good of the Bahamian people.

Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, continues to champion such

partnerships that reflect the RBDF’s core values. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains steadfast in its duty to supporting national development and humanitarian efforts across the archipelago.
