Royal Bahamas Defence Force marines demonstrated their competitive shooting prowess at the RBPF Family Fun Day shooting competition held at Police Training College on 4 October 2024, finishing as runners-up to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS) while decisively outperforming the host RBPF team.

Commander Defence Force and Commanding Officer Commando Squadron were on hand to support the RBDF shooting team, which consisted of A/B William Murphy, M/S DeJoan Sturrup, Woman Marine Kameisha Brown, and Marine Seaman Leonardo Swain.

The team engaged in focused training drills using 9mm ammunition in preparation for the competition, showcasing the tactical shooting skills that have made the RBDF a formidable presence at inter-agency competitions.

With the annual BDCS shooting competition scheduled for 11 November 2025 at the Police firing range, RBDF marines have intensified their preparation. The RBDF remains focused on defending the championship title, a distinction held for the past two consecutive years.

The RBDF, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to interagency collaboration, and camaraderie that supports operational readiness and excellence in marksmanship fundamentals.
