The Administration Department’s Ceremonial Unit, led by Chief Petty Officer Ian Hall, visited Thelma Gibson Primary School on March 14, 2025, continuing their steadfast support of Thelma Gibson’s Young Gentlemen’s Club. As part of their outreach efforts, the unit donated perishable goods to the club’s members, reinforcing their commitment to youth development and community engagement.
The club’s founder, Mrs. Tiffany Johnson, graciously accepted the donations, which were distributed among the club members. In addition to the donation, the marines engaged in meaningful interactions with the students, offering advice, inspiration, and encouragement. As part of the visit, they also participated in a school-wide story time session, sharing motivational words with the entire student body.
The school’s principal, Mrs. Rolle, praised the marines for their dedication and used their presence as an example for young boys and girls to strive for excellence. This visit is part of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s ongoing efforts to foster positive relationships with the nation’s youth, having frequently engaged with Thelma Gibson’s Young Gentlemen’s Club in the past.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen through extensive outreach initiatives. These efforts aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
Additionally, in alignment with its mission to “Guard Our Heritage,” the RBDF remains
steadfast in fostering youth development by actively supporting programs that instill discipline, leadership, and determination in the next generation.
